France condemns Jolo bombings

France has condemned in the “strongest possible terms” the twin bomb attacks in Jolo, Sulu which left 15 people dead and more than 70 injured.

In a statement, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs offered its condolences to the families of the victims of the “terrorist attack” and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.

“[France] stands shoulder to shoulder with the Philippines in the fight against terrorism,” the statement read.

The United Nations, the United States, and the European Union have earlier condemned the bombings in Jolo.

The Philippine Army (PA) and the Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu on Tuesday reported that the twin explosions in Jolo were carried out by two suicide bombers from the Abu Sayyaf group.
