The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed with the Department of Justice yesterday another set of criminal charges this time against  five companies for alleged non-payment of taxes amounting to more than P238 million.

(MANILA BULLETIN)

This brought to 25 the number of business enterprises charged with tax evasion since Wednesday.

South NCR Revenue Regional Director Glen Geraldino identified the accused in separate formal complaints filed with the Department of Justice as Air Ads, Dream Line Services, Penn Philippines, Quick-Serve Station and Alliah Collection and Accessories.

The highest deficiency tax assessment of more than P163 million was imposed against Penn.

Key officers of the said companies were also included in the charges.

South NCR , formerly part of the Makati revenue region covers the cities of Pasay, Paranaque, Taguig, Las Pinas and Muntinlupa.

The tax debts were incurred in 2011 and prior years.
