Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez issued a circular on Friday, May 8, which ordered all judges and staff of first and second level courts to attend an online seminar this coming Tuesday, May 12.

“The attendance of all judges, clerks of court of the offices of the clerks of court, branch clerks of court, and stenographers, both permanent and contractual is mandatory,” stressed the circular of the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA).

“All other court officials and personnel are invited and encouraged to attend,” it added.

The OCA decided to hold the webinar following the creation of the Judiciary 365 platform which has enabled all courts nationwide to receive pleadings online and selected courts to conduct video conference hearings.

Titled “The New Normal: Cybersecurity in a COVID-free, Malware-free Judiciary,” the webinar will be “hosted on the Judiciary 365 platform and will focus on the current cyber threats and trends, red flag indicators, and security and safety – the do’s and dont’s – especially when working from home.”

The webinar will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Justice in coordination with the Philippine Judicial Academy and the Office of the Court Administrator, and with the support of TrendMicro.

The OCA noted that Trendmicro is a global leader in cybersecurity, actively collaborating with the Interpol and law enforcement authorities.
